Yesterday I got a little bored and decided to do some revamping to some of my wardrobe pieces. I saw a sweatshirt the other day at the mall that had the back cut up. It was $56 AKA not in my budget. I've had this crewneck since my sophomore year of college. It's by a local brad, Freshman Clothing. I figured way not try it out. I practiced on a tank top at first before trying it out on the crewneck.

I'm very pleased with the results. I may cut up the Fresher part, I'm just not certain yet. I really like the phrase and don't want to ruin it. I wish I would of taken a video of it or at least took step by step photos. Here's how to revamp your sweatshirts:
Materials needed:
- sweatshirt (old or new)
- scissors (preferably scissors you only cut fabric with and not paper)
- hard surface
- ruler (optional)
- fabric pen (optional)
1. Fold your sweatshirt in half, with the inside seams touching. It should be folded that if you take one sleeve you are able to put it inside the opposite sleeve. This way your slits are even slit wise and it's much easier to cut.
2. If you want precise slits, use a ruler and fabric pen to measure out your desired size of strips. I just freestyled it.
3. Start from the bottom and work your way up making slits. Make sure not to go all the way to the seam. I did this on my carpet, but a table will work best. Make sure you keep your scissors on the table and cut continuously so you won't have those little slips that are not straight.
4. Once you reach the top you will follow the last slit you cut and cut it completely to remove the collar so it can be off the shoulder.
5. Try it on and make any needed modifications you want. I may try this on a plain crewneck and add elbow patches with some leather fabric I have laying around.
6. WERKKKKK! (two snaps)
